Blame It On The Rain

We had an amazing thunderstorm tonight. The boys and I watched to storm move in as we were coming home from the store. By the time we got home, the rain was really coming down. We stayed in the garage and marveled at the thunder and lightening and the rain that kept coming down. Jaxon decided to have a little fun, which inspired the following:

Jaxon went out into the rain and danced and ran around. This is one of the first times that he ran out into the rain.

This was the result. He was mostly soaked.

After a few minutes, a river began to form in the gutter in front of our house. This is Jaxon standing in the gutter. The amount of water was amazing. Jaxon even lost his shoe, twice. He had to run down the hill and chase it. He was successful retrieving his shoe both times. There wasn't one dry spot on him by the time he was through.

McKay was to chicken to go out in the rain without an umbrella. His shorts got quite wet when he stood in the gutter. He went in the house at once to change and his rain playing was over until the storm let up.

Josh was just about buried in the water. I was afraid it was going to sweep him away.

Kayden even was daring and went for a short run in the rain.

Kayden then found an umbrella for himself and was able to enjoy the storm quite a bit. Every time there was a flash of lightening accompanied with thunder he would say, "Wow!"
We had a great time playing which resulted in groceries not getting put away and dinner not getting fixed. The scouts were on their way over so we unfortunately had to grab some take out and have a picnic in the basement. I blamed the rain.

Celebrating 14 Years of Marriage

Jeremy and I celebrated our fourteenth wedding anniversary yesterday. Fourteen years seem like a long time. Didn't it seem like it took forever to turn 14 when you were young? Yet, I don't know where the last fourteen years have gone! A lot has changed since that day. My hair was naturally brown and I weighed a lot less as well (I will blame that one on the four children we have had since our wedding day). Yes, Jeremy has changed too. He had darker hair, and more of it. I wouldn't trade anything for the last fourteen years. It has been hard at times, but overall wonderful. I am looking forward to the lifetime and eternities that I will spend with this man. Happy Anniversary to us!

Blood Run 2009

At the beginning of June Jeremy, McKay, Jaxon and I ran in the Blood Run 5K. It is a run that benefits children with Hemophilia (a rare blood disorder). This was my first race as a runner. (I walked the mile two years ago when I was pregnant with Kayden.) I have been running for a couple of years now (about two miles a day at least), and the blood run was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I don't think that me having the stomach flu a couple of days before the race helped. I ran an 11 minute mile and I ran the whole time without stopping (thanks to Jessica, Jeremy's sister, who gave me much motivation). Overall we had a great time and we are looking forward to next year!

School Is Out!

For the last day of school (which was about three weeks ago), we held the second annual "End of School Bash" in our backyard. We invited all the school age kids on our block along with their moms and dads over for hot dogs (everyone brings a salad, chips or a treat). The adults get to visit and the kids play in the water. This is the second year that we had an end of school party and it was great. It is something fun to look forward to after all the excitement of school getting out.

Day Out With Thomas

Joshua loves trains, Thomas included! Thomas came to town, via the Heber City Railroad, so we went for a ride and enjoyed some activities. Grandma Haacke came with us and we had a good time, just the four of us! (McKay and Jaxon were at school and Jeremy said he would rather have a day without Thomas.)

They had a tent set up outside the train station with several tables of trains and track. Josh looked diligently and patiently until he was able to find all the trains and cars he wanted to play with. It was tough to convince him to move on to the next activity. He loves playing with trains.

Kayden had his fun, too.

Kayden was flinging bubbles every where and occasionally would draw a line here or there on the pavement. It was a great day and we had a good time making memories with the boys, and Thomas of course.

Preschool Graduation

Joshua graduated from his first year of preschool. He loved being in Ms. GeAnna and Ms. Jenny's class. He had a great year and learned many things. For graduation, Joshua's class had a program and sang several songs that he learned during the year and also showed off many things they had learned.

This is Joshua with his good friend, Kaden Cook. They went to preschool together everyday.

Josh had to memorize a part for the program. His part was, "We like maracas yes we do. Sit right there and we'll play for you." Then they sang a cute maraca song.

Next year he if off to Ms. Sherry's preschool. He is growing and learning so fast I can sometimes feel my head spin! Josh is a fun little boy and we sure love him!
