For the last day of school (which was about three weeks ago), we held the second annual "End of School Bash" in our backyard. We invited all the school age kids on our block along with their moms and dads over for hot dogs (everyone brings a salad, chips or a treat). The adults get to visit and the kids play in the water. This is the second year that we had an end of school party and it was great. It is something fun to look forward to after all the excitement of school getting out.
The kids just starting a water fight. Sadly we didn't have enough water guns for everyone. Next year it will be BYOWG (Bring Your Own Water Gun).
Some of the kids going down the slide. They would throw water at each other as they went down the slide.
Kids refilling their water supply for the water fight. I just have to make mention here that Jeremy got very involved in the water fight. He was the wettest one by the end of the party! He is such a good sport. We are looking forward to next years party. But first, we will enjoy this summer!
Looks like a good time. I'm just surprised, based on my recent visit, that it was warm enough to do anything outside with water.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tradition you have! We are glad we live on your block and that we get to play with you too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun neighborhood tradition and kudos to you for being the host. After I out baby number #4 I might actually think of hosting such an event.
ReplyDeleteBYOWG...best idea ever.
