Champs

McKay decided this year that his time would be better spent and that he would have more fun playing basketball with his buddies.  They formed a team and had a great season playing together.  They even won the league championship.

Top: Tyler, McKay and Parker.  Bottom: Coach Boren, Corey, Joe, Toshi, Parker, Alec and Guest Assistant Coach Taylor.  (I love that their champion shirts are traffic cone orange!)

February Harvest

We had a warm spell this February so I decided to pull everything left over from the fall out of my garden.  This was a huge demented carrot that I pulled.  It was devilish looking.  I guess that's what happens when you harvest in February.

Weekend in the Mountains

For President's Day Weekend we were invited by our friends and neighbors to their cabin for some rest and relaxation as well as some escape from screen time and electronics.  It was a great weekend full of friends, food, games and fun.

They boys (and even the moms) enjoyed spending time in the hot tub.  They even took the polar bear challenge:

McKay and all his craziness.

Jaxon's turn.  I like his somersaults.

Josh and Kayden took a turn as well, but weren't quite as crazy.

The next morning they boys went out and played in the snow an made forts for a snowball fight.

Looks like the boys on the deck had the advantage over the boys down below.  Regardless it was a great snowball fight and a great weekend.

Food Bank

We were invited by our friends to go to the local food bank to do some volunteer work.  We went together as a family for our Monday night Family Home Evening and had a great time.  It was fun!

We sorted the cans of food and put them in boxes.  They kids were great and were a big help.  In fact, Kayden kept saying how he wants to work at the food bank when he grows up.

This is one awesome group of kids!

Once our time was up, we went and got ice cream together as a family.  It was a great way to wrap up the night!

Puppeteer

I know I have blogged about my puppeteer profession in the past, but dental puppet show season just ended and it is part of what I do.  It is like my secret identity.

Bringing Dr. Fossilrock to life.  He is my favorite puppet to puppeteer.

Until next February (dental awareness month) when I take on my secret identity once again.  Until we meet again Dr. Fossilrock.

Suki

Our dog, Suki, likes to snuggle.  Whenever someone lays on the couch with a blanket she will cuddle right up to them and share their blanket.  We recently purchased a wonderfully soft blanket at Costco that everyone loves.

She took the blanket for herself.  She decided she didn't need to share.  Apparently she loves the blanket as much as the rest of us do!

RC Dent

We have the best contractors ever.  They built our house, built our shed and then we had them come back when we wanted to redo the basement.  They did an excellent job.  The came by to do the  finishing touches and decided once they were done with all their hard work that they would enjoy the basement as well.

They had a little basketball tournament with the double shot.

We love our new space and use it all the time.  I am glad that other people can enjoy it right along with us!

Hitting the Slopes

These two played hooky and headed for the slopes.  They enjoyed the day together as it was a good year for snow and skiing!

Teacher Praise

We received this fantastic note in the mail one day.  It is so nice to receive notes like this.  A few days later we received this email from Jaxon's English teacher:

Hello!

Jaxon's English teacher, Ms. Hall here. I want let you know how much I appreciate Jaxon. I can always count on him to be on task and to help others show respect. Thank you for raising such a kind and respectful young man. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

Sincerely,
Miss Hall

So proud of my boys--all of them!
