I am always impressed by just how good he really is.  And how serious he take it.

 Check  out that stance!

Kayden had his dad help him with his belt advancement.

Good job Kayden!

Happy 17th Birthday Jaxon!

Jaxon was the most snugly baby ever.  My friend even dubbed him as her teddy bear.  I can't believe he has turned 17 and is a giant of a boy!

His birthday week started out at Grandma White's were he celebrated with his cousin, Nick.  Grandma made their favorite dinner and scotch-a-roos for dessert and ice cream from the BYU creamery.

We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse on Jaxon's actual birthday.  A giant of a burger for a giant of a boy!

Jaxon and his Spurs.  He remains a loyal fan.  He loved the new sweatshirt that we got for him.

Kayden used some fun paint methods to make Jaxon some Spurs artwork.  Jaxon gladly displayed it in his room.

Jaxon asked for the cookie dessert with ice cream.  He has good taste.  However, that meant that there wasn't room for 17 candles.

Jaxon ended his birthday week by celebrating at Grandma Haacke's house.  She also made his favorite dinner and dessert.  He is one loved kid.  Happy birthday Jax!

17 Things We Love About Jaxon
  1. Although he isn't my teddy bear anymore, he still is very loving and sensitive.  He has a way with people that makes them comfortable.
  2. He is a good friend.  Again, he has a way about him that makes people drawn to him.
  3. He talks to me.  I know he doesn't tell me everything, but he tells me a lot.  I enjoy our chats.
  4. I still love his giggle.  And yes, he is still ticklish.
  5. His hair.  Oh his hair.  I may not love how long he has it sometimes, but his afro and ponytails make me laugh.
  6. He works hard in school and is very aware of his future.
  7. He has learned to play the piano this year.  He loves playing.  He set a goal to learn a difficult piece and has come a long way on learning it!
  8.  His love for sports.  He still enjoys playing basketball with friends and even with the seminary teachers.  He follows the NBA and knows what is going down among the basketball world.
  9. He is loyal.  He always has his friends back and is there whenever someone is in need.
  10. His love of the gospel.  He is first assistant in the priest's quorum right now and is an excellent leader.
  11. He is a good brother.  He as really stepped up since McKay left and is a great older brother.  He really tries to keep his patience.  He loves to make them laugh.
  12. His confidence.  He still wears his lava lava to church most weeks.  (Who does that?)
  13. He is helpful.  He does a good job with his household chores each week.  He is also a big help to me with running around when needed or extra help in the yard.
  14. He makes his bed every day.  Some days his bed and room look better than others, but his bed is at least made.  (Now if he would put those decorative pillows on his bed!)
  15. He is resilient.  He as gone through a lot and it has been a tough road.
  16. He is obedient.
  17. He loves his family.  All of them.  He is a favorite among the younger cousins and he loves to hang with the older cousins.  He is quite the tease with them too.  Just like this time when Aunt Caprice and Becca came to visit:

Flag Football

Kayden is our last flag football player.  He had a fun season with his dad being the coach.  He did, however, get pretty silly on the sidelines:

Well, win or lose at least he is having fun!

Sadies

Jaxon was asked to Sadie Hawkins this year by his friend Nicolette.  They had a good time together with their group.  Their group decided to dress up as the 80s.  I swear Jaxon's soul lives in the 80s so he had extra fun with the theme.

His date gave him the hot pink t-shirt and Jaxon gave her a pair of purple tube socks.  We added the short blue shorts, leggings as well as the cool electric shades.

The shades were powered with a battery pack that Jaxon kept in his pocket.  He looked pretty righteous dude!
