Look Who Learned To Ride His Bike!

He asked Jeremy to help him ride his bike without training wheels.  It took Kayden one try.  Piece of cake!  I can't believe he is my baby.

Puppet Season

I dusted off my black clothes to participate in another dental puppet show season. Most people don't know, but I double as a puppeteer in the months of February and March each year to educate elementary school students about taking care of their teeth.  Well, I recently wrapped up this year's season so my black clothes will be retired until next year.

This was my last show of the season and I was able to do the show with some of my favorite co-puppeteers.  In this show, I worked with the puppet Dudley Dinosaur.  He is the lighter green dinosaur puppet.

My fellow puppeteers Cami, (me), Ree, Sharon and Sierra.

Until next year Dudley!

Poor Suki

Suki has gotten into the habit of licking her paws way too much. This has caused her to have a fungal infection in her paws to the point where it hurts her. To get her leave her paws alone, we had to put her in the cone of shame:

She was NOT happy.  Once she realized she couldn't get it off, she stayed in the above position for about 5-10 minutes.  Finally I picked her up and tried to soothe her.  That didn't work either.  She was way too stressed out so the cone of shame had to come off.  Poor dog.  If only she would stop licking her paws!

BYU vs. Gonzaga

Seeing how the WCC basketball tournament is this weekend, I have to put some good vibes out there for my BYU Cougars.  My two oldest boys and I were able to go to the BYU vs. Gonzaga basketball game.  My brother invited us to go with him and sit on the front row.  We had a great time especially because BYU won!  It was a great game.  Here are some highlights:

Anything I can do to get McKay to blush: I invited a BYU cheerleader to stand by McKay for a picture before the game started.

Matt Carlino landed in Jaxon's and Lachlan's lap while diving for a ball.  It was awesome!  Jeremy and Josh were watching the game at home when Josh said, "Hey!  Carlino just landed on Jaxon!"  So Jeremy took a picture of the dive off the TV and text it to us.  Jaxon thought that was pretty cool.

Tyler Haws in action.  He is a favorite in our family due to the fact that we are distantly related.

McKay's half-time "snack".

Some Cosmo action.

Post game high-five from Eric Mika and the rest of the BYU team.  Definitely a highlight for McKay and Jaxon.  All I could think about was how dirty my hand must have been after high-fiving all those sweaty basketball players.

Post game celebration with my two boys.

Lost (Literally) Tooth

We were eating breakfast the other morning when Kayden exclaimed, "Mom! I lost my tooth and I don't know when! I think I swallowed it!"  Upon further inspection, the tooth was missing--and it looked like it had been missing for a while:

See?  No blood or signs of a recent lost tooth.  (Bottom teeth, one over from the middle set.)  Indeed it was a mystery.

His cute new smile.

So because Kayden still wanted a visit from the tooth fairy, he composed the following note:

It reads, "Deer tooth faree, I am not shr when I lost my tooth.  I think I swolode it.  From Kayden"  Or the translation says, "Dear Tooth Fairy,  I am not sure when I lost my tooth.  I think I swallowed it.  From Kayden."  Sure enough, the tooth fairy visited Kayden's room and left him a nice dollar under his pillow.  The next night when I was tucking Kayden into bed I was telling him that he should make his bed everyday so dirt and dust doesn't get in his bed.  And I went to sweep a big piece of lint (or crumb) out of his bed when I heard, "WAIT!  I think that's my tooth!"  And there it was.  The mysteriously lost tooth in the middle of Kayden's bed.

Here he is with his missing tooth the next morning.

Now, can I tell you how disappointed he was when the tooth fairy did not bring him another dollar after finding his missing tooth?

100th Day of Kindergarten

Kayden got to dress up like a 100 year old man to celebrate the 100th day of kindergarten. Here is a peek 94 years into the future:

He's still cute.

NOVA Graduation

Jaxon had the privilege of participating in the NOVA program this school year.  NOVA is:

Nurturing youth to seek out positive Opportunities, internalize good Values, and to accept Accountability for their choices in life.

Jaxon had to avoid all electronics (TV, video games, iPods, etc.) for a whole week, had to make a NOVA rocket, and other activities as well.  It was a good experience for him and he learned a lot.

Here he is at his NOVA graduation receiving his NOVA card from the police officer that conducted the program for the 6th grade this year.  Awesome, Jaxon!

Proud Parent Moment

I received the following postcard in the mail this weekend from McKay's English teacher:

He makes me proud.
