Give Kids A Smile

Remember that bowling night? It made this happen:

Jeremy and his assistant Halsie volunteering at the Give Kids A Smile Saturday Event.  The day is dedicated to taking care of the dental needs of kids.  What a great way to spend a Saturday.

A First

Guess who had their first gray hair pulled on Sunday? (He wanted it pulled ASAP!  We were at church to say the least.)

Jaxon!

Jeremy told him he has no hope as Jeremy pulled his first gray hair when he was 14.  Don't you think 11 is a little young to be getting gray hairs?  Poor kid.

A Little More Heaven

My brother knows how much my boys love BYU basketball.  He was able to score us some front row floor tickets (smack dab in the middle) to the BYU vs. Portland game this last Saturday night.  My nephew Tyler was here (to get his teeth drilled on--the kid had 10 cavities!) so we left Kayden to go on a date with Grandma and the rest of us went to the basketball game.  We had a great time!  The night started off with a wonderful dinner catered by Tucanos.  For two meat lovin' boys (McKay and Tyler) they were in heaven.  After dinner we went down on the floor to our seats to watch the game.

Just outside of the portal was this cool BYU basketball.  Very classy.

We were right in the middle of all the action!  We were able to watch the players warm up before the game.  McKay, Jaxon and Josh were in heaven.  It was fun to be in the middle of it all--to hear the players talk to each other, to hear the coaches call out, to high-five Cosmo a few times and to watch our Cougars win.  To cap it all off, the team came around after the game and gave us all a high-five too!

Tyler made some new friends that night.  He enjoyed watching the girls dance and cheer--he was in heaven.  Oh, and he liked the game too.  He is a fun kid (only he isn't really a kid any more).  We enjoyed having him around for the weekend.

Thanks for a great night Uncle Paul!

Science Fairs

Oh the joy of science fair projects.  I think sometimes teachers sit around wondering how they can involve parent's more in their children's education. Then they come up with the bright idea of a science fair.  Now, science is not my forte.  (I know, shocker.)  But two, yes two, science projects were done at our house the last couple of months and Jeremy and I were heavily involved.

McKay had to do a science project for his 7th grade science class.  His project was chosen to move onto the school science fair.  (Pretty sure that means he got an 'A'.)  His project was about heating water bottles by shaking them.  He did great timing out his experiments and recording his data.  He is not one to leave things to the last minute.

Jaxon's project was true to Jaxon's personality:  Is it possible to tickle yourself?  I was impressed that he conducted all his own experiments.  Who doesn't love tickling someone or watch them attempt to tickle themselves?  (However, next time we will need to help him with remembering to write down data results of his experiments.)

Jaxon's support team.  I love that Jaxon wanted to have Kayden in the picture with him.  Brotherly love.  (I have to document it somehow!)

Glad science projects are done for this year!  Can't wait until next year! (emphasized with heavy sarcasm)
