Happy Halloween 2018!

We had a fun Halloween this year.  The boys' costumes did not disappoint.  However, I did discover this year that Jaxon doesn't love dressing up.

This is the best Jaxon would give me.  I had a mustache for him to wear along with his sombrero and poncho, but he wanted nothing to do with it.  I will say, however, that when his brother in Peru saw this picture, he was with another missionary who is from Mexico and he burst out laughing. The missionary made fun of Jaxon and his costume.  hehe

Josh always wants to be something outside of the box.  No usual costume for him.  This year he really wanted to be a foot.  A hairy toed foot.  He won funniest costume at the ward party this year.

Kayden read all the Harry Potter books this year and decided that he needed to be a dementor for Halloween.  He was pretty scary looking and the little kids would avoid him.

Jeremy and the rest of the office dressed up as Stranger Things characters.  Jeremy was Steve.  It was fun to see them all dressed up together.

I am Kayden's room mom so I put on my pink valor jogging suit, threw my hair in a high side ponytail and went as my signature 80s fitness champ.  We had a good time at his class Halloween party.

Even Oakley the dog dressed up.  He didn't like it at all though.  He would shake his head until the wig would fall off.

We had a fun Halloween and the kids all had a good time with their friends whether it was trick-or-treating or just hanging out having some fun.

Fall Break 2018

We didn't have any solid plans for fall break this year, so we decided to stay home and hang out together at home.  Our days usually started something like this:

We got things done around the house, and relaxed....a lot.  But one evening we decided to head up to Salt Lake City to get some dinner.  We walked around City Creek for a while after dinner and the kids started making their Christmas wish lists.  We then walked over to Vivint Smart Home Arena for the Jazz home opener game.

We had a good time.  Our seats weren't all together, but we sill had fun.  Jaxon took over the responsibility of taking selfies.  It was a great game against the Warriors and the game went down to the wire.  Sadly, the Jazz lost by a last minute basket.  But we made some fun memories!

Jaxon's Homecoming Dance

Jaxon attended his High School Homecoming dance with his cute date Brin.  She is a good friend of his in our ward.  He had a good time with Brin and his group of friends.

He looks to handsome all dressed up!

When Jaxon went and picked up his Date, Brin.  She is wearing 3" heels and she is still so much shorter than him!  They are good friends.

We had the kids over at our house for dinner.  They requested that I make homemade pizza.  They also had Italian sodas as well as fruit and salad.  They came back to the house after the dance and had dessert and played games.

Josh's Eagle Project

Josh was determined to earn his Eagle Scout award before his birthday.  He was a man on a mission and he completed his project in record time.  It was a whirlwind around here for a while.

Once Josh's project was approved, he had some friends over to cut out some templates that will be used to spray classroom numbers on the playground blacktop at the elementary school.  Once they were finished they were thanked with cookies.

To prepare the blacktop to be painted, Josh went to the school the day before and power washed it.

Then he had friends and troop members come on a Saturday morning to paint the numbers.  This will allow for the students at the school to have a smoother evacuation process.  They will stand at their classroom number and the principal will know exactly which class may be missing.  After painting was complete, the kids had some doughnuts and beverages.

Once all his paper work and letters of recommendation were submitted, Josh met with the local Eagle Board.  After interviewing him and reviewing his project, Josh was officially awarded the Eagle Scout award.  We are super proud of him!

Eric Vogel Memorial 5K

Our family has participated in a memorial run for a good friend of Jeremy's, Dr. Eric Vogel.  He died from cancer a few years ago and there is a memorial run held in his honor each fall.   All the proceeds are donated to the charity, Share A Smile, that Dr. Vogel founded.  Dr. Vogel loved to go running.

Some of us do more walking that running, but we all have a good time.  Kayden and I took turns running with Suki.

We had a good time running together and with the dogs.  It was a great morning!

Our friends, Jeremy's co-worker with his family, came to the race too.  It was a good way to celebrate Dr. Vogel and to remember him and all he did for the dental community.

Football Season is Here

Our family loves their Cougars and football season.  We take turns going to games and look forward to each football weekend.....

 .....even when the temperatures dip.

It is something that we all enjoy together as a family.  Go Cougars!
