Richard Marx

I loved Richard Marx when I was a pre-teen/teenager.  In fact, his CD was the first that I ever owned.  So I sent Jeremy a text with this picture attached to it a couple of months ago:

He got the hint and purchased third row tickets to the concert and gifted them to me for Mother's Day.

My teen self would have been in lala land going to this concert and being so close to the stage.  It was a great concert!  That is a good man that I have there that would buy me the tickets and attend the concert with me.

Last Canyon Hurrah

We are pretty fortunate to live in a place that has such quick access to the canyon so that we can enjoy the beauty of the earth.  We got a couple of friends together and went and had dinner up in the canyon.  We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows and enjoyed nature.  It was a nice evening.

6th Grade Field Trip

It's the first week of school and Kayden's class already had a field trip!  I was lucky enough to tag along for this one.  I had a good group of kids that got to follow around all day at the Renaissance Fair.

This picture has lots of personality in it.  It makes me laugh!

Kayden trying his had at Renaissance whittling.  They were making a staff by whittling off all the bark and rough parts.

Summer's End

Attending the Utah County demolition derby always marks the end of the summer.  As much as we love the demotion derby, it means school starts the next week.  It's bitter sweet.

Haacke Reunion

My Uncle Kent passed away several years ago.  We were close with some of his children for a few years, but then we kind of lost touch.  They grew up in Alaska and now one still lives there and the rest in Florida.  It doesn't make it easy to stay in touch.  We were surprised when they contacted us saying they wanted to reconnect with their dad's side of the family.  So a big family reunion was planned for a Saturday afternoon and then the next few days we got to spend lots of time together.  It was so fun to reconnect!

My cousin Shawn and I.  He has some severe disabilities, but he is the life of the party and you can't help but smile and laugh when you are with him.  His brothers and sisters love him!

 He loved Boston!

On their last night in town we got together and played some games and chatted.  From left to right: my mom, John, Tawnya, Dan, myself and Jim.  It was a great few days!

A Growing Puppy

This little guy is growing right before our eyes.  He isn't so little anymore!

Mr. Hotdog is on his way out.  Boston is a chewer!

I went to give him a bath in the utility sink and he was too big!

So he got a bath in the bathtub.  He is one skinny dude.

 Wet fluffy puppy.

After a visit to the groomer.  It was his first haircut.  He cleans up nice and fluffy!

Poking his nose up from under the table at dinner time.  I think he wanted me to share!

He loves to cuddle with my pajamas.  I just happened to be wearing them this time.

My fluffy puppies taking a rest.  Actually, Boston is biting on a ball.

 Fluffy puppies playing outside.

Boston and Jeremy loving on each other.

However, Boston need to work on his problem solving skills.  He could not figure out how to get his toy puppy back from upstairs.

Running in the Rain

We had an awesome summer storm where the heavens were opened and the rain came.  Josh was dared--then bribed--to run out the back door, around the block and back through the front door.

He did it.  For $5.  And he was soaked!

Parade and Demo Performance

Kayden is up to his neck in Karate Demo performances.  This morning he was in a parade for Highland City and this evening he performed with all the Demo Teams at the Real Soccer game.  It was a busy day but he had a good time!

The demo team spent a lot of time practicing for the performance.  The day before the game they performed at, all the Demo teams practiced at the stadium.  It was hot!  And they were wearing black!  But they did a great job!

The morning of the performance, his school's demo team walked in the parade for Highland City.  He had a good time seeing friends along the parade route.

Kayden was excited to preform at the Real game.  Jeremy and I had a good time watching him too!

The actual performance.  Nice!
